strong film, but in my opinion it's missing something, it's not complete. daniel day lewis's daniel plainview was the best acting performance in 2008! but that is one of reasons why i have problems with the film: it's a one-man show, an amazing one!!

the dark night, christopher nolan.
overall, a weak film, the story is a bit 'busy' with two bad characters. BUT: heath ledger was outstanding!! what a loss

things we lost in fire, susanne bier.
i expected much more of susanne bier, but to my disappointment the film was weak. benicio del toro's performance of a drug addict was pretty amazing, watching him caused almost physical pains in me!!

Ein paar Eindrücke aus Edinburgh, wo ich den Jahreswechsel bei Freunden verbracht habe, reiche ich nach. Aber heute schon einmal so viel: ich habe mich rettungslos in die schottische Hauptstadt verliebt. Ich wäre am liebsten dort geblieben...


Edinburg ist für eine Stadt dieser Größe relativ gut ausgestattet mit Wollläden, aber dazu später mehr. Ich habe genau 2,2 Kilo Wolle gekauft. Darunter ein knappes Kilo Big Wool von Rowan, das ich schon sehr lange ausprobieren möchte, allein der Preis hat mit abgehalten. Da das Pfund zur Zeit auf fast 1:1 gefallen ist, habe ich mir das schöne Garn in einem wunderbaren Grau ("smoky") geleistet.


Gestrickt wird daraus Kim Hargreaves NAN aus der THROWN TOGETHER-Kollektion.


Ich verstricke das Garn mit ungewohnt dicker Nadelstärke, 10, so dass die Jacke sicher bald fertig sein wird. Bei den arktischen Temperaturen hier in Berlin kann ich die Jacke auch gleich gut gebrauchen.
